Signals for Nonminimal Lorentz and CPT Violation

An IUCSS Workshop on Signals for Nonminimal Lorentz and CPT Violation will be held in the Physics Department, Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, U.S.A. on June 19-20, 2015.

The Workshop focus will be on the experimental search for Lorentz and CPT violation generated by operators of nonrenormalizable dimension in realistic field-theoretic models and the SME. Experimentalists and theorists will summarize the status of existing and forthcoming studies and discuss prospects and strategies for future searches. The Workshop format is expected to be short talks with time for discussion. A poster session may be organized given sufficient demand.

Topics that may be discussed include:

  • astrophysical and laboratory studies of photons
  • clock-comparison experiments
  • gravitational experiments
  • neutrino oscillations and propagation, neutrino-antineutrino mixing
  • particle-antiparticle comparisons
  • second- and third-generation particles
  • studies of antihydrogen and other exotic species
  • theory and phenomenology of nonminimal Lorentz violation

There is no registration fee for this Workshop, but online registration on or before April 30, 2015 is required. Due to space limitations the total attendance is likely to be capped, so early registration is advised to avoid disappointment.

The Workshop follows the Second IUCSS Summer School on the Standard-Model Extension, which will be held June 12-18, 2015 at the same venue. Note that these two events require separate registrations.

The Workshop hotel is the Indiana Memorial Union. This is located on campus close to the Physics Department and offers convenient access to the meeting venue.
